Appointment of New Chief Financial Officer

| | Kootenay Gold Inc. (KTN-TSX.V) is pleased to announce that Mr. Rajwant Kang, CMA has been appointed the company's new Chief Financial Officer effective immediately. Mr. Kang has assisted Kootenay since September 2007 with financial and administration matters in the capacity of Financial Consultant. Mr. Kang has a variety of public and private company experience including principal Financial Officer, Director and Corporate Secretary for Star Shipping (Canada) Ltd and Squamish Terminals Ltd. both privately held companies engaged in the sea-going bulk shipping industry. Prior to his engagement to Kootenay, Mr. Kang held the position of Corporate Controller, Treasurer and Secretary for Gryphon Gold Corporation a US regulated junior exploration company. He holds a Certified Management Accountants of Canada (CMA) designation and a business and finance accreditation from the United Kingdom. We look forward to the contributions Mr. Kang can give, as we grow the Company through his finance, accounting and public market experience.
