GENERATIVE - AeroTEM Helicopter-borne Geophysical Survey has Commenced on the Chenier Copper-Gold Project

| | Vancouver, BC -- Kootenay Gold Inc. ("Kootenay" or the "Company"), TSX-V KTN, is pleased to announce that an AeroTEM helicopter-borne geophysical survey has commenced on the Chenier Copper-Gold Project, located 30km north of Rock Creek in the West Kootenay region of southern British Columbia. Kootenay recently announced (see April 18, 2007 News Release) that it had entered into an agreement granting Astral Mining to earn a 60% undivided interest in the 6,500 hectare Chenier property from Kootenay Gold Inc. (TSX-V KTN).
After completion of the AeroTEM survey, and interpretation of its results, the company is planning on carrying out an aggressive surface exploration program during the 2007 field season to identify drill targets on the project.
The geologic characteristics observed at the Chenier property indicate it has the potential to host a disseminated alkalic-type copper-gold porphyry deposit. The property covers a newly-discovered mineralized system with characteristics of the upper level of an alkalic porphyry copper-gold/silver system, including well zoned structurally controlled alteration and mineralization. Two copper zones named the East and West zones are exposed over areas measuring roughly 500 metres by 200-300 metres. The 1000 line-kilometre airborne survey is being flown by Aeroquest Limited of Mississauga, Ontario using an AeroTEM helicopter time-domain EM system. The survey is being flown at a 100 metre line spacing to produce a high definition product. The magnetic component of the airborne survey is anticipated to greatly assist in delineating the structural controls to alteration and mineralization. The electromagnetic data from the survey should identify buried sulphide conductors.
This release has been reviewed by James McDonald, P.Geo., CEO and director of Kootenay, a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
